Webster’s dictionary defines a WAVE as a disturbance or variation that transfers energy progressively from point to point. A wave is how a la fresca was started. A pair of POC storytellers, with no open windows into Hollywood, clawed their way onto sets as Production Assistants. Starting from the bottom, they worked their way up to Producers & Directors and formed their own production company. Working with some of the most well-known brands and talent on the planet. 

 

The power of opportunity is the strongest force in the universe. 

 

a la fresca’s WAVE program gives underserved youth access and opportunities the founders wish they had. Through mentorship and apprenticeship, young creatives lacking accessible pathways into the media and entertainment industry will gain much-needed exposure. This exposure, whether or not they decide to pursue a career in our industry, benefits these individuals in profoundly uplifting ways. This positive energy is then taken back into their neighborhoods, and like a wave, proliferates throughout the community.
